THIS! IS! POST POLITICS!

March 29, 2010

A questionable decision by SouthComm today (via, ironically, The Tennessean):

A.C. Kleinheider, the one-man aggregating machine whose blog became one of the most reliable places to find statewide political news, was a victim of layoffs at parent company SouthComm today.

story posted on SouthComm’s subscription site NashvillePost.com quoted CEO Chris Ferrell as saying seven employees were let go because a company that ran foreclosure notices took its business to another paper.

Kleinheider has always been excellent about posting, not only political news, but education news (when it’s particularly interesting).  My vote: SouthComm needs to reconsider and cut costs elsewhere.  What a terrible idea.  Now we’re left with … what?  In Session?

Bloggers: Who’s with me???

“Remember [it].” As simple an order as a [blogger] can give. “Remember why [it] died.” For he did not wish tribute, nor song, nor monuments nor poems of war and valor. His wish was simple. “Remember [it],” he said to me. That was his hope, should any free soul come across that place, in all the countless centuries yet to be.
